5 Best Solar Panels 100 Watt For RV or Home

The solar panel is intended for the autonomous power supply of a motorhome, camper or car trailer and must supply electricity to electrical appliances with a voltage of 12 volts or more. The power of the inverter must be sufficient to operate all chargers, laptops, tablets, TVs, radios, lighting, etc. Let’s see which solar panels are in high demand for them.

Buyers reviews:

Recently, I purchased four of these panels. Three arrived in a few days with Free Shipping, but the fourth unit never arrived. Amazon gave me the option for a refund or re-order within a few days of being overdue. I opted to wait and see if it would eventually arrive, which it did not. Amazon then automatically refunded my purchase on the fourth unit after about a week. In regard to the panels in operation, I am very happy with the quality. I hooked a 300 watt dump resister to each unit upon arrival for testing. I am pleased to say that my reading (volts x amps) showed 108 watts when the panel was pointed exactly at the sun. Otherwise, the panels give an average output of about 80 watts in full sun with a clear sky. This is expected and certainly acceptable. Please note, these panels cannot tolerate any shading whatsoever. If there is any small or slight shadow blocking the sun, it will greatly lower the output to almost nothing.

The product came faster then expected and well packed. I am using it on a sailboat to supplement power. Typically a 100 watt panel can produce about 56% power when used on a 12 VDC system. This one does so fairly quickly and has performed as well as I could have ever hoped.

When you look at a solar panel remember that they rate the power on full sunlight, open circuit voltage and dead short current. Those conditions can’t happen. If you get half power for two to four hours a day, you have a great panel. These are seriously great value.

Buyers reviews:

I bought two 100w panels to go with my 40a mppt Rover charger and a 50ah lithium ion phosphate, all from Renogy, for my homemade camper. The panels are sturdy, well designed, and affordable. They come ready to go with MC4 connectors. I bought each for under $100. Even when the weather isn’t idea (cloudy rainy days), I’m still getting more than enough power to charge my 50ah battery. The mppt charge controller is very efficient and able to utilize the panels efficiently. I extended the cables to about 15ft using 8 awg wires . I connected both panels in series and added a 20a circuit breaker before going into the charge controller. I made a custom aluminum roof mount so that I don’t have to drill additional holes on my roof. So far everything is working great.

Buyers reviews:

I bought this panel for a single purpose – run my old 12V cooler on a desert trip in southern California.
I did not buy a controller or a battery, simply plugged it directly into the cooler which needs 4-5 Amps at 12-14V.
It kept our food nice and cold during the day and, as the temp went down into the 40s at night, the cooler coasted through the night and revved back up again as soon as the sun came up.
Of course I had to move it several times a day to keep it in direct sun. In the morning I propped it up on the rear bumper, during the day on the roof and as the afternoon progressed I moved it to the hood. see picture
I plan to someday upgrade from a tent to a teardrop trailer. Then I’ll get a battery and controller and fabricate a permanent, swivel mount for this panel.
Mind you, in the upper Midwest, it won’t produce near the power it did in the southern desert. It produces 5-6 Amps in “full sunlight” which means no clouds, no trees, no buildings. Low angle sun in the north doesn’t deliver near the illumination that high angle southern desert sun does. This is why solar doesn’t pay back in Detroit, Chicago or Minneapolis. Not enough sun.
It works great in the desert. I’ll be trying it in Moab UT next year.

Buyers reviews:

a high wind storm ripped one of the rich solar panels from the top of my shed. blew the panel over into the next door Nabors yard and slammed into their home. it received one small dent in one corner and ripped the connections loose from the mc4 connector. I checked the panel for voltage and it is still working A-OK with no cracks in the glass and I am still using it today. I will buy more of the rich solar panels very soon.

This 100w solar panel is awesome. The build quality is solid. The 100w solar panel works really well with Rich Solars x500 solar generator. I’m excited to use it on my overland adventures and camping trips.
